Hej ! How are you doing? Now I'm fine but I'm not sure that I will be fine all day because this evening (5 Sep) I'm gonna have "Surströmmingskiva". Surströmmingskiva is a tradition festivity for having surströmming. Actually it should have been held around middle of August. But I was too scared to have this even though we have already bought!. That's why it takes me and my friend very long time to be brave enough to have surströmming. If you don't know what surströmming is, please search on Youtube like surströmming challenge lol.

By the way, I'm afraid that we cannot have surströmming. So I need a back up plan by cooking something which is pleasant to eat. So today I cooked "Khao Naa Moo Ob" or rice with baked pork in English. It's very easy to cook actually, just take a bit long time to cook. This is also gonna be my lunch for today. So let's see how to cook this.

Ingredients ( for 3 persons)
1. 400 g pork loin, sliced into 1 cm ( 1/2 inch)
2. 3 cloves garlic, minced
3. 2 teaspoons black pepper, grounded
4. 1 tablespoons cooking oil
5. 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
6. 1 1/2 tablespoon palm sugar
7. 1/2 teaspoon black soy sauce
8. 400 mL water
9. 1/2 tablespoon all-purpose flour
10. Spring onion , for garnish

Instructions

1. Marinate pork with black pepper, garlic and 1 teaspoon cooking oil in a large bowl , then cover and put in the refridgerator at least 2 hours.

2. Brown the marinated pork on the frying pan with a medium heat.

3. Once they are brown, put the water into the pan. Add oyster sauce, palm sugar and black soy sauce. Then low the heat to a simmer for 90 minutes.

4. Take the pork out of the pan, mix the flour with 1 tablespoon cold water and add into the sauce and stir constantly. Then transfer the pork back into the sauce ... And it's done!

5. Served with rice and steamed vegetables like carrot or peas. Garnish a little bit on top with spring onion.... Uhmmmm yum yum.
