Hi everyone, in my blog you can see that some recipes that I cooked are created because of the feeling " I cannot choose" such as chicken Panang curry fried rice ( because I cannot choose if I should have Panang curry or fried rice) or steamed egg with minced pork Tom Yum sauce ( because I cannot choose between steamed egg or Tom Yum soup). Today I will show you a recipe that was created because of the feeling " I cannot choose " again.
Around 2 months ago I had a feeling like I want to have one-pot rice as my dinner , but in the same time I would like to have Kassler ( smoked pork chops) curry also. After thinking around 10 minutes, I thought it would be good & crazy idea to cook food which is a combination between Kassler curry and one-pot rice. I didn't expect about the result actually. But it tasted very good. I was really surprised with that. It tastes a little bit salty from smoked pork chops, creamy and I love the smell of curry! So I guess it's a good idea to share this recipe to you. So let's see how to cook.
PREP TIME : 10 minutes
COOK TIME : 35 minutes
Ready in : 45 minutes
Ingredients ( for 3 persons)
1. 240 mL long grain rice
2. 320 mL water
3. 160 mL cooking cream
4. 300 g Kassler ( German smoked pork chops) , sliced
5. 50 g onion, finely sliced
6. 50 g red bell pepper, diced
7. 30 g green bell pepper, diced
8. 1 tomato , corsely chopped
9. 1 teaspoon curry powder
10. 1/2 teaspoon ceyanne pepper powder
11. 2 teaspoons butter
12. Chopped parsley, for garnish
Instructions
1. Heat the butter and brown smoked pork chops with medium high heat in frying pan. Once they are golden brown, remove them from the pan, set aside.
2. In the same pan, add onion and fry until it is soft. Add chopped tomato and stir fry until tomato becomes soft.
3. Add curry powder and ceyanne pepper. Stir fry until aromatic smell comes out. Then add rice and stir fry for a few minutes.
4. Add water and cooking cream then reduce the heat to a simmer. Add bell peppers and kasslet. Reduce a heat to a simmer until rice is fully cooked ( around 25-30 minutes ) , then remove from the heat and transfer it to serving dish and sprinkle with chopped parsley. Tadaa it's done!
ps. I used jasmine rice one time and I could feel that the rice is too soft, so I don't recommend you to use that rice if you wanna cook this dish
ps. again I think this recipe is salty enough because of smoked pork chops so I don't add any salt in the recipe. But if the smoke pork chops you bought is not salty enough. You can add more salt in the recipe.
Well, as you can see, it looks really yummy! I have cooked this recipe for a few times and it tastes really great as usual. It reheats very well so youou can also cook this recipe as lunch box.
I hope that you would like to give it a try sometimes. Once you tried it, please let me know about your opinion.
